Join us for the annual VDSEE retreat in Salzburg
The VDSEE is so excited to invite you to this year's retreat in Salzburg! It's a great opportunity to connect with others, find out about the exciting research projects happening in the DocSchool, and of course, enjoy the city.

Start: Thursday, 24 September 2026 - all day
End: Friday, 25 September 2026 - arrival in Vienna at 17:30

All interested VDSEE PhDs & PI members (= signed Code of Good Practice)
Information
The VDSEE covers
- One night in JUFA Hotel Salzburg; single rooms for VDSEE supervisors; single rooms or double rooms with separate beds for PhD-candidates (rooms will be distributed after the registration deadline)
- Transfer Vienna - Salzburg: there will be an organized group train transfer from Vienna main station, individual travels are not covered by the DocSchool
- All meals
- Workshop and Social Program
Retreat days are not subtracted from your annual vacation days!
Please note that the retreat is limited to 70 participants, spots are given on a first come, first served basis.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that there will be childcare for kids of all ages, we will discuss this with those who are planning to bring children.
Cancellation policy
Participation in the retreat can be cancelled until 11 August 2026. After this date, cancellation is no longer possible, with the exception of illness. Should you need to withdraw after 11 August for any reason other than illness, you will be invoiced for the room costs and costs of the train ticket.
