Scientific Presentation Design is a two-day, in-person workshop for PhD-candidates preparing a scientific talk. The course provides structured guidance on narrative development, visual design principles, and effective communication strategies for academic presentations.
The workshop combines conceptual instruction with extensive hands-on exercises, allowing participants to directly apply design techniques and narrative structures to their own slides. The two workshop days are spaced apart, giving participants time between sessions to refine their presentations and incorporate feedback.
Learning Outcomes - By the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Apply design principles to create clear, visually engaging scientific presentations.
- Structure scientific talks using narrative frameworks that enhance audience engagement.
- Integrate figures and data visualizations effectively within presentation slides.
- Refine their own presentation project, resulting in a polished, well-structured talk ready for delivery.
